Turner Super Sidekick Microphone Overview

The Turner Super Sidekick is a classic, high-impedance, amplified desk microphone that was widely used in the CB and amateur radio communities during the 1970s and 1980s. Known for its distinctive appearance and reliable performance, the Super Sidekick became a favorite among radio operators looking for strong, clear audio transmission.
The microphone features a durable metal construction with a push-to-talk (PTT) bar located on the side—hence the name “Sidekick.” It also includes a built-in preamplifier and a gain control knob, allowing users to adjust the output level to suit their specific radio setup. This flexibility made it compatible with a wide range of transceivers.
One of the microphone’s standout qualities is its rich, full audio tone, which helps the operator’s voice stand out over the air. The Super Sidekick delivers a clean, punchy sound that is especially effective in noisy environments.

Although it is no longer in production, the Turner Super Sidekick remains highly valued by collectors and vintage radio enthusiasts, both for its audio quality and its nostalgic design.
