After years of doubt, I installed the WSJT-Z software in early August 2024. After solving some problems with software and hardware MicroKeyer II and a Kenwood TS-480SAT it is finaly working. In the mean time installed a separate computer specifically for WSJT-Z. I use my Icom Ic775DSP and a SignaLink USB interface. I use 25 Watts output power. It works great, the QSO’s are automatically saved in LOG4OM V2.

In just a few hours I worked 22 DXCC. I’m beginning to understand that FT8 is a good option for many radio amateurs to be able to do something with the hobby. Many radio amateurs have problems installing antenna’s and FT8 offers the option of making DX contact on a piece if wire.

There are two clubs for FT4 and FT8 they offer awards and are well organised.
